Springfield Christian Family began with a life group of 8 people which included John and Deb van Bennekom, Ralph and Jo van Strien and Phil and Julianne Cutcliffe. The Church was birthed from Christian Family Centre at Sumner Park in 1996.
The first service was held on Pentecost Sunday, May 1996, at the Springfield Early Learning Child Care Centre. A few months later the new congregation moved their services to the Camira/Springfield Community Centre with an afternoon service. Soon after the commencement of the church services, the community charity arm of our Church was established. This was named Westside Community Care.
Over the course of 7 years (2005-2012), Springfield Christian Family planted 3 additional campuses to cater for the incredible population growth that was happening in Springfield. Due to all campuses being planted in rented facilities, a centralised church office was needed. This was established in a set of offices which were purpose built next to the Camira/Springfield Community Centre in 2009. This Centre had been under the management of Westside Community Care since 2007.
We have a desire to not just have a building to call our own in this community, but to establish a Christian school with Christ-centred ethos and curriculum to reach generations of those who will call our community home.
We see students being brought here from around the world, receiving a world class education and being presented with the Good News of our Lord Jesus Christ.
